The Process
Every custom garment begins with a one-on-one virtual consultation where your vision starts coming to life.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss your event, inspiration, personal style, preferred silhouettes, fabrics, colors, and all the little details that make your design uniquely yours. Whether you arrive with dozens of inspiration photos or just a simple idea, we’ll work together to create a design that reflects you. We do not make replicas of other design’s, personal designs, or Ai generated images.
As we chat, Kiki will create a rough concept sketch to help visualize the direction of your custom piece. This is a collaborative process, so we’ll refine ideas together until we’re both excited about the design.
After your consultation, we will spend additional time calculating materials and labor, and preparing your custom quote. Once everything is complete, you will receive pricing proposal, measurements needed and contracts by email.
A perfect fit starts with accurate measurements.
You can choose to have your measurements taken by a local tailor or complete them virtually with us from the comfort of your home. If you choose the virtual option, we’ll guide you through the process step by step to ensure your measurements are as accurate as possible.
No matter which option you choose, we’re here to help make the process simple and stress-free.
Once your design is finalized, a custom sewing pattern is created specifically for your garment. This pattern serves as the blueprint for your one-of-a-kind piece, ensuring every detail is tailored to your design and measurements.
Using this pattern, we’ll create a mockup of your garment and ship it to you for a fitting. This allows us to check the fit, make any necessary adjustments, and perfect your garment before cutting into your final fabric.
Once your design concept is finalized, the next step is selecting the fabrics and materials that will bring your vision to life. Fabric shopping is a detailed part of the custom design process where we consider the structure, movement, texture, color, and overall feel needed for your garment.
We personally source fabrics, trims, and specialty materials based on your approved design. This may include searching for unique fabrics, embellishments, lace, appliqués, feathers, rhinestones, and other details that help capture the look and feel we discussed during your consultation.
To maintain the quality, construction, and overall integrity of each custom piece, Kiki’s Kreationss provides and sources all materials used for your garment. Outside materials are not accepted unless they are determined to be necessary for the design and approved during the design process. This allows us to properly evaluate the material’s compatibility with the garment’s structure, construction, and final design.
Fittings are an essential part of the custom design process. During this stage, we review the fit, structure, and adjustments needed to ensure your garment is developing according to your approved design.
Kiki’s Kreationss specializes in virtual fittings, allowing us to work with clients nationwide through detailed measurement guidance and virtual communication which includes video calls. Our team is highly trained in virtual fittings, making an in-person appointment unnecessary for most clients.
For clients who prefer an in-person fitting, this option may be available for an additional fee. Please inquire during your consultation for more details.
Once your garment has been completed, we conduct a final review to ensure all design details, finishing touches, and requested elements have been addressed. Your custom piece is then carefully prepared for shipping.
All orders are shipped with tracking information provided. Local clients may request pickup if it is feasible based on scheduling and availability.
